Jim Cronin MBE sadly passed away on March 17, 2007. Jim founded Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre in 1987, and established himself as an international expert in the rescue and rehabilitation of abused primates and the enforcement of international treaties aimed at protecting primates from illegal trade, exploitation and abuse.

The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund is committed to relieving the suffering of non-human primates in both the UK and abroad, as well as advancing the education of the public in the conservation of non-human primates. The charity has also funded a number of projects across the globe related to the conservation and welfare of primates.
